WHAT IS PLEXR?

Plexr is a non-surgical treatment which offers an effective alternative to surgical procedures such as blepharoplasty (eyelid excess skin removal), face/neck lift and scar. Plexr uses the ionisation of gases in the air, forming plasma. This creates a small electrical arc that can sublimate (change from solid to gas) the superficial skin cells without bleeding or damage to surrounding tissue.  This allows us treating various problem areas without spreading unwanted heat to the surrounding skin. There is no scalpel or laser used and therefor no stitches.

PLEXR CAN TREAT:

  • Non-surgical blepharoplasty
  • Xanthelasma Removal (yellowish deposit of fat underneath the skin around the eyes)
  • Treatment of active acne, acne scars, skin damage & pigmentation
  • Treatment of sunspots, melasma
  • Removal of keloids, warts etc
  • Skin rejuvenation
  • Treatment of stretch marks

WHAT TO EXPECT?

Consultation is done to see whether you are suitable for Plexr treatment. Once suitability confirmed, a numbing cream is applied to minimise any discomfort during procedure. Treatment time, including topical numbing cream, may be 20-60 minutes depending on the treatment area.

One to three treatments may be needed for each area at 6-8 week intervals.

The treatment is performed with dots created by the Plexr device to sublimate (change from solid to gas) the superficial skin cells without bleeding or damage to surrounding tissue.

After Plexr treatment

Immediately after treatment the treated area(s) will be quite red and mildly swollen. Mild crustations/discoloration will be seen in the treated area(s). Swelling may intensify over the following few hours and may last 2-3 days. The crustations /discoloration should resolve within 5-7 days. Make-up or liquid foundation may be applied the following day. You will be provided with some medication to help with the swelling and discomfort. You will need to keep the treated area clean, dry and protected from sun exposure or direct sources of heat for a minimum of 30 days.  Unusual side effects include infection, scarring or pigmentation changes. It is imperative to follow after-care advice to avoid such complications.

Plexr treatment results are seen instantly after the treatment, although this gradually improves over the course of the following 2-4 weeks.

We recommend a minimum of 2 treatments.  Should you wish to have second treatment, this should be carried out at 6-8 weekly intervals.

How long does Plexr last?

The treatment stimulates instant contraction and shortening of skin fibres and this process continues to take effect in the first 2-4 weeks. The effect of the treatment is subjective to number of treatments and your ageing process, but typically may last a few years. You will age as you would otherwise, and your skin will continue to lengthen and relax as part of the ageing process. We recommend repeat treatment 12 months after the initial procedure.
